 Remote sounding, construction of digital maps of terrain

AIR SURVEY AND PROCESSING OF ON-BOARD REMOTE SENSING DATA:
FORMATION OF ORTHOFOTOPLANS AND 3D DIGITAL TERRAIN MODELS

GosNIIAS has got an airborne and ground complex of equipment and hardware/software for the efficient solution of following tasks:

  • topographic and thematic air survey (black-and-white, colored, spectrozonal) of all the set with high precise definition of coordinates of projection centres of photographs;
  • multichannel scanner survey both in visual and infrared ranges;
  • synchronous radio location and photography in the side-looking view;
  • video surveillance in down hemisphere with varying focal points, automatic tracking and recording of images;
  • digital recording of scanner and radio location data;
  • operative reconnaissance and target finding;
  • territory patrolling;
  • definition of parameters of ground and water surfaces;
  • mapping of lands, definition of the type and health of vegetation;
  • mapping of product pipes, railroads and highways, buried communication lines, power supply lines, buildings and constructions;
  • estimation of damages after natural and antropogenous disasters;
  • detection and identification of small objects, definition of their coordinates;
  • definition of parameters of various surface objects;
  • determination of potentially dangerous areas for the presence of mines and unexploded munitions.

The airborne and ground complex of equipment and hardware/software includes:

  • flying testbeds based on IL-18D and AN-30 airplanes;

  • hardware/software for data processing and formation of orthophotoplans and 3D digital terrain models to solve following tasks:

    • preparation of initial data and air survey;
    • processing and digitization of films;
    • preparation of basic information;
    • triangulation (photogrammetric method of bridging of reference points network);
    • construction of a digital terrain model;
    • construction of an orthophotoplan;
    • interactive visualization and making of simulators.
